June 2010.
Just returned from a mini tour of Alberta & Saskatchewan, & now enjoying
some time off & updating the website.
January 2010
This year's winter tour was a great success. We arrived in Texas in early January & left at the beginning of February after completing 18 concerts, the final one was the 2nd annual charity fundraiser for the St Baldrick's Foundation. Raising funds & awareness for childhood cancer. We were lucky enough to have our friends & fellow Canadian entertainers Freddy & Sheila performing a guest spot, along with Freddy's son Clint. Sheila's sweet voice & the guitar artistry of Freddy & Clint were real crowd pleasers.
February 2010
Arrived in Arizona in early February & enjoyed lots of return
performances & some brand new venues. One of the first shows was a
return to Carriage Manor Resort in Mesa, we always enjoy this first
class resort & we had almost 700 people at our show there. In Yuma we
performed exclusively at the beautifully restored Heritage Theatre, 2
matinee performances & 2 evening shows. Great to see so many old friends
& of course lots of Canadians. A new venue was Sunland Village in Mesa,
beautiful auditorium with great stage & lights & another BIG crowd.
March 2010.
March always means St Patrick's concerts & this year we had four,
starting off at the Heritage Theatre in Yuma, where we were delighted to
welcome back our old friend (& my school mate from Liverpool)
Paddy O'Furniture. (Or Ray Soden as he's
known in real life!) Paddy always delivers a set full of great Irish
stories & this was no exception. We also had the dynamic dancing of
Michael Patrick Gallagher. Unfortunately, due to prior commitments Paddy
O'Furniture was unable to join us for the remaining 3 Irish shows, but
we were able to recruit some of Michael Pat's advanced students & they
did a great job. And we do mean advanced,
because these young people were off to the International Irish Dance
Championships shortly after performing with us. The Desertview
Performing Arts Centre was a new venue for us in Tucson & it is a
fantastic facility & perfect for the Irish show. We'll be back
there in 2011. Voyager Resort, again in Tucson, was very successful, &
our final Irish Show was a SOLD OUT
performance at the Farnsworth Community Theatre in Mesa. Thanks.
April 2010.
Spent Easter in Salt Lake City with our son, his wife & our 2 grand
children & then a final show in California before heading home to
beautiful British Columbia & home. Then spent time catching up with our
daughter, her husband & 2 more grandchildren.
