for a decade or more, the best of these 2 albums has been collected & is
now available on CD. Re-mastered, digitally enhanced & sounding better
than ever. The mix of comedy & music is what you have come to expect
from Bernie & Red. There are several opportunities here for Red to show
off her fine vocal skills, most notably on a medley of Vera Lynn songs.
She also tackles two standards from the 40's "For You" & "Too Young" &
does a great job with the Irish favourite "Danny Boy". Bernie lends his
talents to a couple of cheeky British ditties, "Uncle Joe's Mint balls"
& "Away With Rum", & the balance of this release is made up of an
eclectic mixture of songs which include comedy, calypso, country, Irish,
folk & British Music Hall. Also included are their first "hits" "Keep
Your Hand on Your Halfpenny" & "Oh What a Beauty". If you have come to
know Bernie & Red only recently, this CD is a fascinating & enjoyable
look at how they sounded in the beginning. There are 16 tracks in total,
with generous running time of over 60 minutes. Available in CD only.

THE JOB "LIVE". Their first "LIVE" recording in 1985. This was recorded
on two consecutive nights & captures the BERNIE & RED SHOW as it was
back then. No straight songs here, it's 100% comedy. "Biddy McGraw" is
the opening number, the story of an Irish lady of the evening & this
song sets the mood for the rest of the album. Six of the songs here were
penned by Bernie & Red, including the "Jim & Tammy Song", (remember
them?), "Cup of Tea", "Mexican Vacation", the monologue "My Budgie", &
two parodies of Willie Nelson songs, "Seven Spanish Angels" & "To All
The Girls I've Loved Before". Also included ........ The originals of
those old "Nursery Rhymes" you thought you knew ....... a very funny
song about a guy who has a "Vasectomy" which goes wrong ........ "The
Chicken Song", NOT the one that every one dances to, but an old campfire
favourite. There's also a hilarious Russian spoof entitled "Comrade
Olga" & a rib tickling warning about the dangers of alcohol, "Brewers
Droop".

& RED LIVE - VOLUME 2". Recorded 1999. 100% comedy. Recorded at a "Good
Sam Samboree". More songs, stories & jokes, including Red's hilarious
account of the "Vacuum Toilet" & probably her most requested routine
about the problems that women encounter when answering a simple call of
nature. There's also a lesson on "Scottish History" & the release is
rounded out by a number called "SKI Club". If you aren't familiar with
the acronym it stands for Spending our Kids Inheritance, & is all about
the RV travel lifestyle that lots of retired folks adopt. This CD
version contains extra bonus tracks.

"BRICKS & ROSES". Recorded in 1992. Although best known for their
comedy, there is also a serious side to Bernie & Red, which surfaces in
every live performance. It's quite a switch to go from a very funny
comedy piece to a big ballad such as "The Rose", but this is what
happens at a Bernie & Red show, AND IT WORKS! In fact it works so well
that audiences demanded that some of these big ballads were recorded, so
here they are.
This release includes the aforementioned "The Rose" & also, "Wind
Beneath My Wings", "Memory", "Lily Marlene", "Over The Rainbow", &
"Don't Cry For Me Argentina". There are also a couple of great songs
from the 40's, "Mean To Me" & "La Vie En Rose". And did someone mention
comedy? Well there's some of that too. A parody of "Achy Breaky Heart",
a monologue entitled "Little Aggie" & a great favourite from live shows
"Murphy & The Bricks". A great mixture of comedy & music. 13 tracks in
all, with a total running time of over 48 minutes. GREAT VALUE.

straight numbers. Almost all the songs here are favourites from Bernie &
Red's current live show. From Red we get some of her ever popular "Red
Hot Mama" numbers including, "A Good man is Hard to Find" & "St Louis
Blues" & a self penned comedy piece "Computer Blues". This disc also
includes the story of the Pillsbury "Doughboy" & Bernie's stuttering
tour de force, "You Tell Her, I Stutter". The title of this release is
from the song of the same name, Bernie's operatic debut on disc!
Performed in Italian no less. You'll never be able to listen to this
song again with a straight face after hearing Bernie's operatic version!

captures Bernie & Red at their best in front of a live audience. This CD
was recorded in their home town of Abbotsford in BC Canada & features

"A TOUCH OF THE IRISH". Recorded 2007 . From their earliest
performances, Bernie & Red always featured some Irish songs in their
shows, & during the 80’s, after their great success at the “Unicorn”
during the Vancouver World’s Fair, the amount of Irish material
increased, so it was no surprise when they decided to present an annual
“All Irish” show, each March, to celebrate St Patrick’s Day. The success
of these Irish shows led to this recording, which features many of the
songs included in their St Patrick’s day show. You’ll find a great
collection of the serious & the comic which we’ve come to expect from
Bernie & Red. Gentle ballads from Red, such as “Bunch of Thyme” &
“Liverpool Lullaby” & foot stomping hand-clappers such as “Whiskey in
the Jar” & “The Wild Rover” are included, as well as the self penned
“Yesterday is History”, which has become a firm favourite at concerts.
